Giving a little back

One of the long-standing traditions of the Edinburgh St Patrick’s Day Charity Ball is to raise funds in support of good causes while we come together to celebrate the night. Over the years, the Ball has been proud to support a number of charities and community organisations that reflect the spirit of care, culture and connection at the heart of the event.

In recent years, beneficiaries have included St Catharine’s Mercy Convent in Lauriston and the vital work they do supporting people experiencing homelessness in Edinburgh, alongside organisations such as the Scottish Huntington’s Association and Dunedin Connollys Gaelic Athletic Club.

On the night, fundraising typically takes place through a short table raffle and auction during dessert, made possible by the generosity of our guests and the many friends and local businesses who kindly donate prizes. While the charity beneficiaries for the March 2026 Ball are yet to be confirmed, continuing this tradition of giving remains an important part of the evening.
